Fashopper - Premium OpenCart Theme

Fashion, Clothes and Apparel Theme

Fashopper is an OpenCart theme that can be used on fashion and apparel eCommerce websites.

Please read all instructions herein carefully. Go through each step at a time and do not jump any step. It will save you and me a lot time. 

 

Installation

1. Upload Fashopper Theme files into your web host server 

BACK UP BEFORE INSTALLATING THE TEMPLATE... JUST INCASE

No core files have been modified in Fashopper theme. It uses an overide system to parse core during load thus preventing the original code from being altered. 

You will get the following folders from the Fashopper download: 

Each of the folders above contains theme data and installation files for the version indicated on the folder. Ensure that you upload files that belong to your current version of OpenCart.

Upload the Fashopper theme files using a FTP client. Download FileZilla FTP client here or you can use any other FTP client at your disposal. Open FileZilla, login to your server and do as shown in the image illustration below.

Every time you perform an upgrade to your OpenCart, you are supposed to upgrade Fashopper theme as well.

2. Install VQMOD in your website

Fashopper theme requires VQMOD to work effectively. If you have VQMOD installed already, then you just need to upgrade it to the latest version 2.6.1

To install VQMOD, use the following URL:

http://www.yourwebsite.com/vqmod/install/index.php 

VQMOD is a very quick mode parser that prevents alteration of OpenCart core files. 

3. Upgrade your database

Fashopper theme requires your database to be upgraded so that the "Hover Image" field may be added to the product table. Actually you can do it manually or you can execute our simple to use upgrade script. 

To upgrade your database, use the following URL: 

http://www.yourwebsite.com/fashopperinstall/index.php

Then delete fashopper install folder from your root directory for security reasons. 

If would like to it manually, then use the SQL code provided below: 


ALTER TABLE `product`
  ADD ( 
    `use_hover_image` tinyint(1) NOT NULL,
    `hover_image` varchar(255) collate utf8_bin default NULL
  );

If you use the code above, then ensure to enter the databse prefix before the table product. e.g. `prefix_product`, where prefix is your database prefix that you chose while installing OpenCart. 

To run the SQL code, open your database using phpMyAdmin software on your web host and click on SQL at the top navigation links. Paste the the code and then click "GO". 

4. Install Fashopper options panel module

Log in to the admin panel of your website and navigate to: 

Extensions >> Modules >> Fashopper Options Panel >> Install

5. Install Fashopper Template in Admin panel of your website 

Log in to the admin panel of your website and navigate to: 

System >> Settings >> Default Store >> Edit >> Store >> Template >> select Fashopper

6. Perform Template Customization

(i) Image Settings

Go to: System >> Settings >> Default Store >> Edit >> Image and then enter the image dimensions shown in the image below and click "save" button:

(ii) Module Settings

Go to: Extensions >> Modules and enter the settings as shown in the images below.

Slideshow dimension need to be exactly as shown in the image above. Otherwise the thme will lack consistency. Also for all the images that will be uploaded need to have the same dimemsions.

Images that are smaller than the dimensions of the slideshow usually become blurred.

Featured products need to be added in multiples of 4. i.e, 4, 8 etc.

Adding products in numbers that are not multiples of 4 will produce lots of whitespace in your theme.

Latest products need to be added in multiples of 4. i.e, 4, 8 etc.

Adding products in numbers that are not multiples of 4 will produce lots of whitespace in your theme.

Specials products need to be added in multiples of 4. i.e, 4, 8 etc.

Bestsellers products need to be added in multiples of 4. i.e, 4, 8 etc.

Theme Features

1. "Hover Image" plugin 

The hover image plugin allows you to select and insert a rollover image for any product in your online store. This feature is activated from the Fashopper options panel. Once activated, then its interface will be accessible on the product insertion page within the admin panel of your store. Use the following two steps to access this feature; 

i) Go to: Extensions >> Modules >> Fashopper Options Panel >> Edit >> Enable Hover Image Plugin 

ii) Go to: Catalog >> Products >> Edit >> Data >> Hover Image >> Browse Files

2. Remove "Add to Cart" button.

Allows you to disable the "Add to Cart" button from modules such as Faetured, Best Sellers, Latest and Specials. It prompts the customers to look at the product page for more details. 

3. SlideShow manager

This feature allows you to control how fast and how slow the Home Page slide works. 

4. Customer Contacts 

These are the most important elements of an eCommerce store. Fashopper theme allows you to set your customer support phone number and email. 

5. Theme Design 

Click on Theme Colors within the Fashopper options panel and a list of cutomization options will be displayed. here, you can select the background pattern, or even upload your own. Moreover, you can also cutomize the colors of your theme. 

6. Cutom Fonts 

More than 200 Google custom fonts to choose from to be displayed in menus and headers. 

7. Social Media 

fashopper allows you to set an access to your social profiles with ease. Just select the preferred settings and paste in the URL to your social profile. Currently supports Facebook, Twitter and Google plus networks.
